Vortex Launches App on Test-net — Test Lending Flow

We are excited to launch one part of our milestone on testnet today. As part of our milestone 1, which is due in the month of May, we have started rolling out our features on the testnet for community testing.

Scope of the current beta app: Lending on Aave Protocol

We will continue pushing updates every week now in the run-up to the major milestone 1 release coming soon within the month of May 2021

The process to obtain Test ETH, DAI and USDC

IMPORTANT: Beta App is running on the Kovan Network. Hence, please claim the required Kovan ETH from this link: https://faucet.kovan.network/

1: Ensure that KOVAN NETWORK is selected in the Metamask wallet as shown below

2: Visit https://faucet.kovan.network/ (this process is for obtaining test ETH) and click on the Login with GitHub button

2: Once logged in, enter your ERC-20 address on which you want to receive the test ETH

3: Once the balance of Metamask is updated with test ETH received, please open the website with the URL as: https://testnet.aave.com/markets and ensure that the AAVE V2 Market is selected on the top right corner of the page.

4: Click on the CONNECT button a pop-up as shown below will be displayed, please ensure that the network is selected as KOVAN and click on the first option of BROWSER WALLET, this will open up the Metamask (with Kovan network)

5: Click on the DEPOSIT link on the top menu bar of the testnet page

6: Click on ETH option as shown below

7: Enter the desired amount of Test ETH that needs to be deposited and click on the Continue button

8: Once the user clicks on the Continue button above, the following page will be displayed, once displayed click on the DEPOSIT button, which shall open your Metamask (running on Kovan network), confirm the transaction through metamask.

9: Once deposited, the application will display a success message

10: Click on the DASHBOARD button, on the image displayed in point 9, and it shall redirect the user to the dashboard as shown below

11: Click on the BORROW NOW button shown on the dashboard. Once clicked, the user shall be redirected to the list of tokens that can be borrowed as shown below

12: Click on DAI. Once clicked, the user will be able to view a page, where he can see the available DAI which he can borrow against the test ETH deposited as collateral. In the below example, we are borrowing 49 Test Dai. Click Continue

13: Once the user clicks on the CONTINUE button on the above screenshot, the following screen will be shown. For simplicity's sake, in this example, the STABLE APR option has been selected. Click Continue button

14: On the next screen, confirm your action of borrowing by clicking on the BORROW button as shown in the below screen

15: Once the BORROW button is clicked, the Metamask pop-up will open. Please submit the transaction. Once submitted, and the transaction is confirmed, the following screen will be shown. Click on the EXPLORER link as highlighted below

16: Once the explorer link is clicked, the user will be able to see the screen as shown below. Please click the DAI link as shown in the screenshot below

17: Once the new page opens, please copy the highlighted value as shown in the screenshot below. This value is basically the contract address of the test DAI which will be required to be entered in the Metamask to add Dai

18: Click on Metamask on your browser, and click on Add Token as shown below

19: On the Add token page, enter the contract address copied as shown in step 17. Once copied, the following values should be visible

20: Once clicked on NEXT, user should be able to see the Test Dai that he borrowed. Click on the ADD TOKENS button as shown below, and the Metamask is ready with test Dai to deposit for the further testing on the Vortex testnet app

For borrowing USDC, repeat the same steps as shown above, except the fact that in step 12, click on USDC instead of DAI.

Testing Process

1: Launch: app.vortexdefi.com

2: Click to “Connect Wallet” and choose Metamask wallet.

3: On selecting the Metamask, Metamask will pop up and the user can select the account. Make sure to select the Kovan Test Network.

4: Now, You must create a DeFi Smart Wallet. Click on the “Create Account” button in the menu bar.

5: On clicking the Create Account button, Metamask will pop up, and the user must pay the fee to create a smart wallet account.

6: By Clicking, the user can deposit into his smart wallet.

7: The user will copy his wallet address and send DAI/USDC into his Smart Wallet.

8: The deposited amount is now in the user's Smart Wallet and the user can invest it into his desired Protocol. E.g. (Aave, Compound, Yearn).

9: Now to invest in the Aave protocol, the User must select the protocol and the asset in which he has to deposit.

10: The user can also withdraw from the protocol. In that case, he will select the asset and protocol from which he must withdraw, and the withdrawn amount will be deposited into the Metamask.
